About
For as long as I can remember, mapping has held my fascination. A map can tell you where to go and how to get there, but it never tells you how beautiful a place can be. My Artworks are original abstract compositions shown as maps and are inspired by organic forms - water, earth, erosion, atmosphere and minerals that create a sense of movement and quiet tension They incorporate my love of nature and the environment. We are surrounded by beauty and capturing that beauty shows mystery in the visualisation. I leave it to the viewer to choose how they see it, even though mine have names, they are purely for identification purposes.
The works feel expansive, immersive and contemplative - inviting the viewer to pause. From a distance, they command a room. Up close, they reveal intricate textures and subtle transitions.
Available as one-of-a-kind originals or also can be offered as Limited Editions, these premium prints can be on high sheen photographic paper or printed onto transparent film that can be backlit for striking impact. Also offered on canvas and other versatile mediums. The perfect addition to refined homes, offices, galleries and curated spaces.
I can remember years ago at school, desperately wanting to do art, the new intakes were divided into 2 - this half must do music and the half will do art! Yes, music won. Negotiations were not on the agenda.
Many years later, I had the opportunity to study art and subsequently received my Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art & Visual Culture) through Curtin University in Western Australia and went on to do my Master of Arts (Creative Art) through the University of Southern Queensland. Continuing on, through the same University I was awarded the Doctor of Creative Arts at the end of 2024.
